Kids Express Learning Center
KELC Partners with Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin

The holiday season is a time to be thankful for the blessings in our lives. In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, KELC children participated in a variety of activities to promote joy and thankfulness such as special cooking projects, thankful art and language activities and a look back at the very first Thanksgiving.

In keeping with the season of thankfulness and giving, Kids Express Learning Center took part in the annual Second Harvest Food Drive to benefit Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. From November 24 – December 7, non-perishable food items and monetary donations were dropped into the designated collection bins in each of the KELC classrooms.

If you are interested in contributing to the Second Harvest Food Drive, most needed items include:
  • meals in a can (stews, pasta, soup, macaroni and cheese, etc.)
  • meals in a box (Tuna/Hamburger Helper)
  • canned fruit
  • tuna
  • peanut butter
  • jelly
  • pasta sauce
  • dry pasta
  • cereal
Donations are still being accepted at the Second Harvest warehouse located at 2802 Dairy Drive in Madison, Monday—Friday, 8:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m. You may call them to arrange pick up of bulk grocery items at 608-223-9121, extension 110.
