Week of the Young Child Events Kids Express Learning Center will celebrate the nationally recognized Week of the Young Child throughout the week of April 3-8. Following is a summary of the special events: Sunday, April 3: Community children’s concert at the Overture Center from 1-3 p.m. This free concert features regional entertainers such as Reid Miller, Art Shegonee and David Landau who will entertain children and parents alike! Visit www.overturecenter.com for more information. Monday, April 4: Chloe the Clown Day - children may participate in fun and games with Miss Georgine dressed as Chloe. Tuesday, April 5: All-school sing-along with Mrs. Nacker and Hop-a-thon charity event to benefit Muscular Dystrophy. Wednesday, April 6: Family Night at KELC from 6-8 p.m. - children and their families are invited to enjoy an evening of fun activities including arts & crafts, storytelling, exotic animals and the Scholastic Book Fair. Healthy snacks will be donated by KELC families. Art projects will be available for purchase to benefit Tsunami Relief Funds. Thursday, April 7: Ice Cream and Stuffed Animal Day - children will enjoy ice cream treats as part of our afternoon snack. Children are also invited to bring his/her favorite stuffed animal to school. Friday, April 8: Kids Express Learning Center will be closed for Parent Teacher Conferences.
Throughout the week, children and families may attend the
annual Scholastic Book Fair located in the Hey Diddle Diddle
Classroom. Books for purchase include both paperback and
hardcover and are appropriate for children ages 6-months –
